Nokia Lumia 800 hands-on

Posted by TnTonly On November - 15 - 2011

I just had a chance to have a first look at the Nokia Lumia 800 yesterday at Carphonewarehouse. Undoubtly, this Windows phone device from the Finnish company is by far the most beautiful and elegant looking device I have ever seen. The device is rock-solid, despite the fact that the phone is certainly plastic, but it is unibody poly-carbonate we are talking. As a result, although it feels really light on the hand, it still has the premium feel of the unibody aluminum devices.

The Windows phone 7.5 OS is mostly untouched (and probably manufacturers couldn’t do much customization with it, though), looks gorgeous on the unique curve screen of the Lumia 800. The screen is one of the best mobile screens on the mobile phone industry. It is really glossy, beautiful with deep black colour.

Nokia collaborates with Microsoft

Okay folks. Today should be the one of the most important days in mobile phone industry, especially for Nokia. As we all knew, Nokia is the largest mobile phone company in the world. However, its throne gradually becomes unstable, and now we can see many of its market is falling into the hands of others, mostly from Apple and the army of Android. And just a few days ago, we saw the big loss in Nokia financial report. Therefore, it is not too hard to guess Nokia would do some thing to regain its market. The super camera – smart phone Nokia N8 is a succeed, but still not enough. People are looking forward to MeeGo OS, the new opensource operating system developed by Intel and Nokia, a fusion of Moblin and MeeGo, but there is still no sign of its first mobile phone. And we’ve just known that Nokia N9-00, the (probably) first MeeGo phone, has been dropped in order to recreate the other one, Nokia N9-01. Noone knows what Nokia was going to do. People were looking for today, when Nokia held an event for its new marketing strategy in London. And what we have heard, is most unexpected.

Nokia will use Windows Phone 7 as the company’s primary operating system

Video Today

After the long wait, my Google Nexus 7 has finally arrived! Having seen so many “fail” unboxing videos before, I took extra precaution while unboxing the tablet. Fortunately the unboxing processed smoothly.

It is certainly worth the wait. My first impression of the Google Nexus 7 is that it is a superb build quality, amazing performance, nice screen and incredible Jelly Bean. All that for only £159. I will use this for a while and will create a review later, but for now I’m totally satisfy with it.
